I was invited to HB Health to learn more about their spa and experience a Cavalliert Awakening Facial. HB is an external and internal health spa which is located on hip and chic Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge. I walked in the front door and was greeted by a beautiful light and airy oasis which gave you the most peaceful feeling the second you walked in the door. I was told to have a seat near the juice bar where their "juicetender" prepared me the special juice of the day which was a mixture of lemon, orange, passion fruit, sweet potato and squash. I know that sounds a bit daring, but it wasn't...in fact it was delicious and refreshing. I couldn't be rude and not try it, and now I realized something I like. So listen to your mothers advice and don't knock it until you try it, you may discover you like something new.
Julia my spa therapist for the afternoon took me upstairs for my facial. The facial was extremely relaxing and since HB is a medical spa, everything used on my face was disposable. There was also no steam which I prefer. Instead, she applied warm towels to my face which felt heavenly. After some exfoliating and extracting she applied a light facial mask (never felt crusty) while massaging my head and shoulders. At the ned, another mask was applied while massaging my face for lumphatic drainage. My skin glowed after, in fact it was a little embarrasing because everyone at the spa was commenting.
Then, I was brought upstairs to have my blood analyzed. Vanessa, their clinical nutritionist pricked my finger (didn't hurt at all) and applied the blood to a slide and put it under the microscope which was projected on to a large plasma computer screen where I could see all my little blood cells scurrying around. It was really incredible! She was able to show me any fat in my blood, if there were any hormonal imbalances and if certain blood levels were low based on the shapes and clustering of my blood cells. Luckily I did well!
There is something very relaxing, healing and reassuring about HB. You feel confident knowing you are surrounded by top doctors and specialists and that it's a one stop shop. I am going to be going back for their Precription for Life program and I will have a full review when I return.
