I know, it sounds crazy, I agree... but I just had to try this treatment after reading about it in a local magazine...
Traditionally used for cellulite treatment, Ionithermie is also used to tone different parts of the body. I would say that a woman's number one trouble area is her stomach so I felt it was only appropriate to try it out for my readers. Of course I found it at Balance The Clinic where I know I can always find the most innovative treatments in London. The first order of business was to strip down to a paper thong and nothing else.
Jemma my therapist rubbed on algae, kelp and ivy product which is a combination of active slimming ingredients. Then she had me lie down with a pad under my back and then applied a pad over my torso. She explained if you're going to work your stomach muscles, then you should also work your back muscles at the same time for strengthening (makes sense). Then she applied a natural clay infused with Algae to my back and front and then attached the electrodes to four spots on my stomach and four spots on my back. Once activated at a certain number (we started at 60), you basically feel your muscles being worked and you're just lying there. Sit-up in heaven! It was pretty amazing. The treatment lasts for a 1/2 hour. I noticed a slight difference in my upper stomach area but nothing too dramatic. I was told that you should do at least about 4 treatments to see results and it should be in a short amount of time. I left a little skeptical until the next morning my muscles felt like I had an ab workout of the century. I came back for a second treatment and upped my number to 100 and I really started to notice a difference in my stomach. If you are already slim, you will see the best results from this treatment. If you need to loose a little weight, I would recommend losing it first with a healthy diet and exercise program and then trying the treatment. Treatment can be done on the face, hip, arm, thigh, bust and decollete. Overall a great treatment but I don't think I am going to give up my weekly work out just yet!
